On Thursday evening, some members of In the Basement Theater Company (a vagabond artist troupe currently in residency at Arts@Renaissance in Brooklyn), traveled to Saddle River, NJ to perform a benefit dinner in order to raise awareness about the company and to promote the upcoming production of The Lady in Red Converses with Diablo.
As the PR Executive for the company, I enjoyed watching everyone perform (woo, Rabbit in the Rye!) and loved chatting with the guests, asking them whether they were having a good time and letting them know more about us. Everyone was excited by the talent they sampled and showed great enthusiasm about the events we have planned.
The restaurant, Saddle River Inn, is fine dining and serves contemporary French cuisine. The rustic setting was made even more romantic as the company performed original pieces and covers that blended well with the atmosphere. The night concluded with "Can't Buy Me Love," a song that got many of the diners clapping and singing along.
It was an amazing success!
